Job summary
A leading engineering firm based in Wisbech is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to assist in the design of customer conveying projects. The role involves producing detailed drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and ensuring efficient production processes. Ideal candidates will have mechanical engineering training, 2 years of experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks, and excellent communication skills. This is an office-based position with a salary of GBP40,000 per year.
Qualifications
- 2 years experience in the use of AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Ability to undertake detailed site surveys.
- Excellent organisational, oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design & produce detailed drawings using 3D SolidWorks & 2D AutoCAD.
- Prepare workshop, layout and installation drawings.
- Prepare and supply installation documentation.
- Purchase and control project outsourced items.
- Liaise with customers and vendors.
- Assist the production team in fabrication & assembly.
- Assess cost and methods of work for efficiency improvements.
