Job summary
A precision engineering company based in Huddersfield is seeking a skilled CNC Turner Programmer, Setter, and Operator. This permanent role offers a pay rate of ÂŁ18 per hour with a 39-hour work week, and responsibilities include programming CNC turning centres and producing high-precision components. We are currently looking to recruit a skilled and experienced CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator to join our small, friendly, and highly skilled team based in Huddersfield (HD4) for our precision engineering client.

đź•“ Hours: 39 per week
🗓️ Shift: Monday - Thursday, 07:00 - 17:15
Pay Rate: ÂŁ18.00 per hour (minimum) based on experience.
- Programme, set, and operate CNC turning centres using Fanuc controls (experience with other systems will also be considered).
- Produce high-precision one-offs and small batch components across a wide range of materials, including stainless steels and exotics.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and conformance to specifications.
- Carry out self-inspection using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers, and bore gauges.
- Work to tight tolerances and maintain high quality standards at all times.
- Contribute to a safe, clean, and well‑organised working environment.
- Apprentice trained or minimum 3 years' experience in CNC turning programming, setting, and operating.
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc programming, including Manual Guide i.
- Proven ability to produce high‑quality one‑off and small batch precision components.
- Confident in quality checking own work and maintaining dimensional accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, manage workloads effectively, and maintain a strong attention to detail.
