Overview

We are currently looking to recruit a skilled and experienced CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator to join our small, friendly, and highly skilled team based in Huddersfield (HD4) for our precision engineering client.

📍 Location: Huddersfield
💼 Position: Permanent
🕓 Hours: 39 per week
🗓️ Shift: Monday - Thursday, 07:00 - 17:15
Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour (minimum) based on experience.

Main Responsibilities

• Programme, set, and operate CNC turning centres using Fanuc controls (experience with other systems will also be considered).
• Produce high-precision one-offs and small batch components across a wide range of materials, including stainless steels and exotics.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and conformance to specifications.
• Carry out self-inspection using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers, and bore gauges.
• Work to tight tolerances and maintain high quality standards at all times.
• Contribute to a safe, clean, and well‑organised working environment.

Key Skills & Experience

• Apprentice trained or minimum 3 years' experience in CNC turning programming, setting, and operating.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc programming, including Manual Guide i.
• Proven ability to produce high‑quality one‑off and small batch precision components.
• Confident in quality checking own work and maintaining dimensional accuracy.
• Ability to work independently, manage workloads effectively, and maintain a strong attention to detail.
