EdEx is exclusively working with a leading secondary school in North London (Haringey) to find six Teaching Assistants for September 2025 starts. The school has been in the top 1% nationally for attainment and progress, and has been graded 'Outstanding' for 10 years. The positions are full-time, employed directly by the school on a permanent contract, initially for 1 year with potential for teacher training in year 2. The salary is £27,181 per annum (FTE equivalent £30,331).

The school is an academically selective Sixth Form for students aged 16-19, aiming to provide opportunities for students from lower socio-economic backgrounds. The school values togetherness and ambition among staff and students.

Responsibilities include:

• Inspiring students in your specialist subject
• Supporting students' academic development and habits of excellence
• Developing literacy, numeracy, communication, and oracy skills
• Providing pastoral support to foster confidence and resilience
• Working individually or in groups to boost attainment
• Planning and delivering sessions on academic literacy and study skills
• Supporting students applying to top universities and those struggling academically
• Collaborating with staff to develop personalized support plans
• Supporting students with special educational needs in partnership with SENDCO team

Ideal candidate qualities:

• Graduate from a Russell Group university with 1st or 2:1 classification
• Strong academic record, A*-B GCSEs desirable
• Ambitious, resilient, and driven to motivate students
• Interested in gaining experience in a leading educational institute with career aspirations in teaching or social policy
• Resilient, hardworking, and passionate about making a difference
• Experience tutoring or mentoring is a plus
• Willing to take on small teaching responsibilities after induction
