Job Advert: Year 1 Teacher (Maternity Cover) - Edgbaston

Start Date: 03/11/2025 End Date: 20/07/2026 Full-Time

Location: Edgbaston, Birmingham

The Role
  • As the Year 1 Class Teacher, you will: Take full responsibility for the planning, delivery and assessment of the Year 1 curriculum
  • Create a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom environment
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and senior leaders
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and carers to support pupil progress
About You
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - this is essential
  • Has recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1, preferably Year 1
  • Is confident in delivering a creative and engaging curriculum in line with national standards
  • Demonstrates excellent behaviour management and classroom organisation
  • Is enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to making a positive impact
