Location: Ipswich • Salary: £28,000 to £32,000 • Type: Full-time, Permanent

We're recruiting for a skilled and motivated Workshop Technician to join a well-established engineering business. This is a hands-on position based in a busy, supportive workshop environment — ideal for someone with a practical mindset and a genuine interest in technical work.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with workshop repairs, maintenance, and refurbishments
  • Carrying out pre-delivery inspections and preparing machines for despatch
  • Supporting electrical fault diagnosis and remedial work on returned equipment
  • Refurbishing and cleaning machinery to company standards
  • Helping maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
  • Liaising with Warehouse, Sales, and Service teams as required
  • Operating a forklift once trained (training can be provided)
What we’re looking for
  • A practical, hands-on approach and a keen eye for detail
  • Ideally a technical or electrical qualification (NVQ or similar) or relevant workshop experience
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
