About the role
  • Provide practical and emotional support to women and children living in the refuge, supporting clients with benefits claims, budgeting, and accessing external services.
  • Accompany clients to appointments such as court, solicitors, and healthcare providers, and attend MARAC and other multi-agency meetings to advocate for clients.
  • Work with other agencies to secure specialist support for issues such as debt or substance misuse, and assist with resettlement services for families moving on from the refuge.
  • Support safeguarding and child welfare in collaboration with the Child Support Worker.
  • Hold a caseload of up to 8 families, offering tailored support through structured plans.
  • Complete risk and needs assessments and respond appropriately in line with IDAS policies.
  • Promote activities that support recovery and empowerment.
  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion by ensuring services are accessible and responsive to the needs of all communities, including those who are underrepresented or marginalised.

Contract and location

Contract: Permanent

Location: Harrogate

Hours: Part-time - This role can be combined with our other part-time vacancy of Women\'s support worker based in Harrogate refuge to create one full-time role.
