Job description
Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a Specialist Team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists providing wheelchair assessment and prescription, and postural management advice to children, young people and adults in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This post will suit both Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist looking to enhance their skills in postural management in a community setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide wheelchair assessment and prescription, and postural management advice to children, young people and adults in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
  • Join a Specialist Team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists and contribute to the countywide Wheelchair Service, providing specialist assessments and advice to clients including those who often present with complex needs.
  • Participate in clinical governance and service development within the Wheelchair Service in partnership with professional specialists, the Clinical Lead and Wheelchair Service Team Lead.
  • Contribute to assessment clinics located in Hayle, Truro and Liskeard with travel to clients’ places of residence required in some circumstances.
Travel and work location

Due to the nature of the role, you must be able to travel independently on a daily basis to and from the base, patients’ homes and other venues around the geographical area, which may not be accessible by public transport.
