You will play a vital part in ensuring the highest standards of care for a fascinating range of animals across our Parsons Walk and Leigh Campuses, during weekends and college closure periods when students and teaching staff are not on site.

We are looking to recruit a dedicated and responsible Animal Care Technician to provide high‑quality daily care for a range of animals including reptiles, amphibians, fish, small mammals and invertebrates. You will carry out daily husbandry routines: feeding, cleaning, monitoring health and maintaining secure and hygienic enclosures, ensuring every animal receives exceptional care. You will also maintain accurate records, liaise with staff about animal welfare concerns, and ensure all environments meet high welfare standards.
The role involves travel between Parsons Walk and Leigh Campuses, so a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. Weekend working, Bank Holidays and college closure periods (including Christmas and New Year) are required.
You will be confident and experienced in handling a range of animal species, with a genuine passion for their wellbeing. You will have excellent attention to detail, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work independently, ensuring our animals are cared for to the highest standards every single day.
