A maritime operations company is looking for a Watchkeeping Maritime Data Technician to provide 24/7 support. The role involves data management and compilation of the Recognised Maritime Picture (RMP) at a military facility. Candidates must have effective communication skills and the ability to obtain UK vetting. The position is permanent and full-time with a shift pattern of nights and days.
Watchkeeping Maritime Data Technician — Navy Digital Operations Centre (NDOC) Navy Command (NC). This permanent, full-time role is a shift watchkeeping position in an expanding team that will provide 24/7/365 cover. An option to enrol on a Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship is available, providing a platform for progression in Data Analysis. The role provides data management support to the NDOC, using multiple information systems that collectively contribute to the better understanding of the Maritime Domain and situational awareness. Location: a military facility in the Portsmouth area. Successful applicants will play a key role in an expanding team that manages digital data, providing outputs to customers globally.
The primary purpose is to be responsible for compiling, monitoring, and assuring the Recognised Maritime Picture (RMP). This is a complex process requiring a unique skillset to understand the operational environment and provide maritime situational awareness which can be exploited throughout the maritime command chain.
