This role is vital for ensuring the safe movement of supplies and waste, critical for the smooth running of hospital operations. Overview

Job Title: Waste Porter

Location: Norwich

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm

Pay: £12.21 per hour

We are seeking a Waste Porter to join a busy hospital logistics team. This role is vital in ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient movement of hospital logistics stores and waste, helping to keep services running smoothly and safely for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Safely transport hospital logistics stores and waste using electric vehicles across site.
  • Receive, sort, store, and prepare all types of waste for collection and disposal in line with company policies.
  • Carry out pre-shift inspections, report faults or hazards, and follow all Health & Safety procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and infection control in all tasks.
  • Keep accurate records and complete all paperwork in line with Trust and company policies.
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues and hospital staff to ensure tasks are understood and completed within agreed timeframes.
  • Support the wider logistics team, including training and covering duties as needed.
  • Build strong working relationships with Trust staff, management, and colleagues to ensure efficient service delivery.
