Overview

Technician – Waste Management Services – Location: Whetstone/ County Hall / Hybrid – Hourly Rate: £14.83 – Hours: Full-time

We are seeking a technically skilled and proactive Technician to join our clients Waste Management Services team. This role is ideal for someone with strong IT capabilities, particularly in Excel, and the ability to quickly learn and use various software systems including weighbridge software, H&S incident recording tools, and waste management data platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle low-level customer complaints via face-to-face, phone, and email interactions.
  • Use MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) to manage data, draft reports, and create presentations.
  • Support the supervision of low to medium value waste-related contracts.
  • Assist in the review and development of the Service’s Health & Safety and Quality Management Systems.
  • Deliver training packages and support operatives with online learning.
  • Operate the weighbridge at Whetstone site (training provided).
  • Manage stock control and ordering processes.
Work Environment
  • Hybrid working available, subject to performance and role requirements.
  • Regular attendance at Whetstone RHWS & WTS and County Hall is required.
  • Occasional travel to other RHWSs and WTSs may be necessary.
  • PPE and uniform provided, including potential use of a Body Worn Camera (BWC) for field-based staff.
Essential Criteria

  • Valid UK driving licence (up to 3.5 tonne), access to own vehicle, and insurance for business use.
