Warehouse Shift Manager (AM Shift) - Wigan
40 hours per week, on a 5/7 rota. Working hours – 05:30 - 14:00. Basic hourly rate of £18.16.

As the UK’s leading provider of Two-Person Home Delivery, we store and deliver large, heavy and bulky items, often requiring two attentive people to handle and install for customers. ArrowXL values six core principles: Innovative, Safe, Respectful, Excellent, Responsible, One Team. We are recruiting for a Warehouse Shift Manager to join the busy Warehouse operation in Wigan. You will lead a team of Warehouse Operatives and be responsible for the smooth operation of the AM shift, ensuring delivery crews are loaded to deliver the best service for our customers.
Main Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for operating a safe and efficient warehouse operation, ensuring goods are in the right place at the right time
- Lead and develop the warehouse team to maintain a successful flow of goods movement
- Develop, achieve, and continuously improve under-the-roof KPIs
- Perform effective resource planning to ensure the right staff and tools are available
- Ensure warehouse operations comply with safety, legislation, policy, process and industry best practice
- Develop and maintain continuous improvement programmes (e.g., warehouse flow, equipment, waste) and engage stakeholders to share best practice
- Develop and manage the warehouse budget and stock inventory
- Ensure effective asset/equipment management
- Collaborate with facilities and procurement to ensure on-site equipment is fit for purpose and serviced
- Build relationships with 3rd-party providers (e.g., agencies, FLT suppliers)
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
- Experience of managing teams within a customer-focused and fast-paced warehouse environment
- Knowledge and experience in first-line people management issues (absence, performance, investigations)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to analyse Management Information and drive change
- Ability to interpret financial data to manage and improve resource costs
- Strong people skills – able to influence, coach and develop others
- Knowledge of RedPrairie WMS is an advantage
