Position: Warehouse Shift Manager / Warehouse Team Manager

Location: Swindon

Salary: £42,000.00

Remuneration: Mon-Fri | PM Shift | 40hrs

About the Role

Warehouse Shift Manager required to lead and oversee operations staff for a UK leading 3PL provider at their site situated in the Swindon area. This is an excellent opportunity to work for an award-winning organisation with a people first culture. The company are working a notable contract for the coffee market, providing storage and distribution services across the UK.

As Warehouse Team Manager you will be required to manage end to end daily warehouse operations ensuring that all customer contractual obligations are met. You will engage with and provide leadership and motivation to your team. The Shift Manager will identify solutions and to optimise and add value to new and existing customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accomplish depot operations & human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, and counselling employees.
  • Develop depot operations systems by determining product handling, storage requirements and transport requirements.
  • Aid with developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilisation, inventory management, dispatch and delivery.
  • Manage, mentor and coach direct reports to create a successful and effective warehouse team.
  • Ensure adherence to set budgets
  • Hold accountability for ensuring relevant operating metrics are met including warehouse productivity, vehicle loading and unloading, pick rates and stock counts.
  • Develop and direct programs to ensure an efficient and cost-effective operation and utilisation of the facility and of all warehouse equipment.
  • Constantly test and review operational processes to always ensure best practice.
  • Organise/ attend daily warehouse meetings and daily shift start/toolbox meetings.
  • Interact with the Operations Manager to establish clear, ambitious and attainable goals/objectives in all business areas (operations, quality and service, H&S, profitability, etc.).
  • Ensure that all audits, compliance and legal standards are met and exceeded.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in managing logistics operations
  • Previous transport supervisory/management experience
  • Knowledge of relevant transport legislation
  • H&S certifications - Highly Desirable
  • Previous experience in 3PL multi-user depots
  • Budgetary / Cost management experience
  • PC Literacy - Advanced user of all Microsoft office applications
  • In depth knowledge of WMS systems, Health & Safety Management and Human Resources Management
