Role Title

Warehouse Process Specialist Apprentice

Role Mission

To support the Methods team during project implementations, build knowledge around warehouse architecture design and lean methodology. Identify areas for improvement related to labour efficiency. Support warehouse operations by resolving issues with the warehouse management system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support various members of the Methods team during project implementations.
  • Shadow the team and build knowledge of lean methodologies and warehouse architecture.
  • Assist the PMDM (Plant Master Data Manager) with data acquisition and cleansing tasks.
  • Support the DC with SPS preparation and the adoption of digital tools.
Training

Training Provider: Claudius Consulting

During your apprenticeship, you will receive two different types of training.

On‑the‑job Training (provided by Schneider Electric)

This training is delivered by Schneider Electric, your employer. You’ll receive training and supervision to help you perform the job you’ve been hired to do, including skills and knowledge that fall outside the apprenticeship but are required for the role. Additional support includes mentorship, social enrichment, performance reviews, mental health and wellbeing support, and feedback opportunities.

Off‑the‑job Training (delivered by the Training Provider)

You will spend at least 20% of your working hours (average 6 hours per week) completing off‑the‑job training. This protected time is a requirement for apprenticeship delivery and will teach you the knowledge, skills, and behaviours set out in the apprenticeship standard so you can achieve occupational competence.

Work Pattern

37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Exact start and finish times will be agreed upon with the line manager. Some hours will be allocated to off‑the‑job training as part of your apprenticeship programme.

Essential Requirements
  • Strong IT/digital literacy skills (Excel fundamentals).
  • Reliability: punctual, meets commitments, follows instructions.
  • Basic numeracy: comfortable with addition/subtraction, percentages, counting, and unit conversions.
  • Safety‑first attitude: follows safe systems of work; knows when to escalate.
Desirable
  • Root‑cause mindset (guided): can contribute facts to 5‑Whys led by a mentor.
  • Awareness of Lean basics: 5S, wastes (TIMWOODS), standard work.
  • Process mapping support: can help draw simple flowcharts (e.g., in Visio/Miro/PowerPoint).
Education

Have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or Level 2 equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above including Mathematics, English and a science, technology or engineering related subject.

Previous Experience Required

No pre‑requisite experience required.
