As our newest team member, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your unique personality and make a real impact on our young people and organisation. We are looking for a Waking Night Support Worker (internally known as a Building Supervisor) to work in our supported accommodation buildings in Lydney, which provide 24/7 housing and support for young people aged 16‑25 who were homeless or at risk of homelessness. This is a full‑time position, working on a rolling rota basis (12.25‑hour shift: 8 pm‑8:15 am, 1 hour unpaid break).

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the building is safe and secure for residents.
  • Liaise with support staff and manage handovers between shifts.
  • Conduct health and safety checks and walk‑arounds throughout the shift.
  • Maintain the building’s cleanliness, tidiness, and appearance.
  • Engage with residents who need someone to listen to them.
  • Defuse any situations that may affect the health, safety or well‑being of residents.
  • Adopt sound judgement to resolve situations independently or seek support from peers and emergency services when required.
  • Attend and progress through the tailored training pathway offered by CCP.
Qualifications
  • Experience interacting with diverse groups of people is useful but not essential; training and induction will be provided.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help residents.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate others.
  • Willingness to learn, reflect, and pursue career development at CCP.
  • Prior conviction will not necessarily prevent you from joining CCP, subject to satisfactory pre‑employment checks.
Benefits
  • 25 days holiday plus public holidays, with an additional day added per year and an option to purchase more.
  • Enhanced pension and sick pay.
  • Death in service benefit.
  • Free subscription to Benenden Cashback plan or Perkbox discounts.
  • Investors in People Gold accredited employer, committed to making the workplace better for you.
  • Excellent training and support to help you excel in your role.
  • A voice in various groups, including Proud2Be, Green Impact, Health & Safety, and Health and Wellbeing.
  • Access to a Workplace Welfare Manager for support when needed.
  • Business mileage (45p a mile) paid for daily miles above the distance from your home to the allocated workplace location and back.
  • Annual leave entitlement pro‑rata for part‑time staff; an extra day accrues for each completed financial year (capped at 5). Purchasing additional holidays is capped at 5 per year.
