Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them reach their potential? Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Volunteer Police Cadet scheme as a Unit Leader. This is your chance to inspire the next generation while developing your own leadership and organisational skills.

About the Role

As a Unit Leader, you will lead and manage a local cadet unit , supporting young people and adult volunteer leaders. You’ll ensure the welfare and development of everyone in your unit, while maintaining compliance with safeguarding and organisational standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and coordinating weekly cadet sessions .
  • Delivering an engaging curriculum and organising community events .
  • Acting as the main point of contact for parents and guardians.
  • Promoting the cadet unit within the local community.
  • Managing records, budgets, and risk assessments for events.

We need individuals with strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire young people. Previous experience working with youth or cadet organisations is desirable but not essential. Most importantly, you should share our values of respect, empathy, courage, and public service .
