Job description

Your New Chapter Starts Here

Are you ready to join a team that genuinely enjoys working together – and isn’t afraid of a bit of laughter alongside laparoscopies? At Yorkshire Vets we’re a close-knit and longstanding team, with a mix of experienced and newer graduated vets and nurses, and we’re looking for a passionate Veterinary Surgeon to become part of the family. Certificates can be funded for the right candidate.

Overview

We’re a large practice with multiple sites across Leeds and Bradford. Thornbury RCVS accredited hospital serves as the central hub and hosts Bradford VetsNow for 24/7 on-site care. The Thornbury site is equipped with laparoscopic kit, ultrasound, dental X-ray, endoscopy, a dedicated orthopaedic theatre, and Phovia. Soon to come is dental radiography at our Morley site to increase the quality of care we provide.

What You’ll Be Doing

We are seeking an experienced vet with an interest in consulting, medicine or imaging – or a mixture of the above. You’ll be collaborating daily with a supportive team, with space to grow, develop, and shape your ideal role.

Where You’ll Be Working

Our main Thornbury hospital provides central hub functionality for our five other branches and acts as the host practice for Bradford VetsNow. Our other sites span Armley, Morley, Birkenshaw, Meanwood and Horsforth and are self-sufficient standalone sites with in-house blood machines and access to Thornbury for complex cases.

We have a large but close squad of 20 vets, supported by our experienced nursing and VCA team, admin assistants and receptionists. The practice is led by three Clinical Directors and a Practice Director, each with their own interests and areas of expertise.

Because Our People Matter

Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from:

  • Work-life balance
  • 6.6 weeks annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays
  • Additional holiday entitlement for your birthday

  • Employee Assistance Programme: 24/7 confidential helpline
