Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist – Band 7 (Fixed term 18 months, 37.5 hours per week, Full‑time)
Salary: £47,810 – £54,710 per annum pro rata. Closing date: 27 December 2025.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide autonomous assessment and management for urological patients, including surgical and cancer pathways.
- Lead nurse‑led clinics and collaborate with multidisciplinary team.
- Advocate for patients, facilitating informed discussion and consent.
- Interpret diagnostic imaging and request investigations within national guidelines.
- Improve care pathways, implement best practice, and contribute to research, audits and clinical governance.
- Lead, support, supervise and teach the nursing and multidisciplinary team.
- Manage the Urology Unit, ensuring effective service delivery within agreed budgets.
- Develop and deliver education programmes for patients, carers, staff and the wider community.
Person Specification
Experience and Knowledge (Essential)
- Experience in communication skills in emotional situations.
- Experience where a degree of autonomous working has been required.
- Experience of multi‑professional team working.
- Ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
- Minimum five years post‑registration experience.
- Minimum two years experience at Band 6 within the designated speciality.
- Evidence of ongoing CPD.
- Evidence of ability to lead/manage a team of staff.
- Band 6 experience within Urology Service.
Qualifications and Professional Training (Essential)
- NMC registration.
- Degree level education or equivalent.
- Diploma level qualification in speciality.
- Advanced communication course.
Desirable
- Non‑medical prescribing qualification.
- Masters level education.
Skills and Abilities (Essential)
- Clinical assessment skills module at minimum degree level or equivalent.
Desirable
- Non‑medical prescribing qualification.
- Diploma level qualification in speciality or equivalent experience.
