Honeycomb is delighted to partner with a well established Insurance Group to recruit for an Underwriting Team Leader. This role would suit someone who'd like to join a long established business, and who wants to get rewarded for a job well done. Must have a proven track record in the insurance industry, ideally within the Commercial side, and experience supervising a team in the insurance industry or similar environment would be advantageous too.

The Client

Our client is a long standing Group in the Insurance sector, offering a broad range of insurance related services including broking and underwriting. They have been trading for nearly 20 years and have been growing organically. They put their customers at the heart of everything they do and have an excellent reputation on the market as a leader in their field.

The Role

The role as an Underwriting Team Leader will sit within the Commercial division, and you will oversee daily operations, guiding your team to deliver high-quality outcomes. You will bring strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to drive performance while fostering a motivated, positive work environment.

Typical duties
  • Management of staff on a day-to-day basis and dealing with operational issues within the Commercial team as needs arise.
  • Ensure adherence to FCA regulations and requirements within the Commercial team in all areas of business operations.
  • Maintain CPD (Continuing Professional Development) on an ongoing basis.
  • Updating computer systems with customer details to ensure accurate records are maintained.
  • Contribute where appropriate to projects within the Commercial department to improve process, create efficiency and maximise sales.
Essential Criteria
  • At least 1 years experience in the insurance industry, particularly in Motor Trade insurance and Commercial products, generating leads, and meeting sales targets
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel
  • High attention to detail
  • Have a pro active approach, and be able to work on own initiative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • 5 GCSE's, grades C or above (including Maths & English), or equivalent
Package
  • Salary £31-£34k, depending on skills & experience
