A global leader in sensor and software solutions is seeking a Planning & Logistics Manager in Telford to lead the logistics team. Responsibilities include ensuring project delivery within budget, managing cost controls, and overseeing team performance. We are seeking an experienced Planning & Logistics Manager to lead our UK team of project and logistics specialists. This management role is accountable for delivering installation projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards—while ensuring safety, compliance, and alignment with company values. The role carries full departmental responsibility for cost control, resource planning, and customer satisfaction, with decision-making authority across purchasing, recruitment, and team management.
Lead and develop a team of planning, logistics, and project engineers.
Ensure projects and shipments are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed specifications.
Oversee budgets, subcontractor and freight costs, and inventory management.
Manage performance, training, appraisals, and capacity planning for the team.
Chair regular team and project reviews with clear reporting and risk management.
Drive process improvement using lean and visual management tools.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality standards, and business management systems.
Collaborate with senior management to support profitability, sales delivery, and customer satisfaction.
Proven management experience in supply chain, logistics, or project delivery.
Strong track record in P&L responsibility and cost control.
Experience with lean project management and visual tracking methods.
Degree/HNC in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
Skilled in analysing data and managing KPIs.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Customer-focused, resilient, and effective in managing cross-functional teams.
