Job description
Stroke Medicine Registrar – Trust Grade

We are looking for a new Trust Grade doctor to join our Stroke team at NUH. The post is a 12 month initial contract with the possibility to extend.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide acute stroke care across hyper‑acute and acute wards, including thrombolysis, mechanical thrombectomy and assessment for decompressive hemicraniectomy.
  • Support junior doctors and the ED team, lead ward rounds and develop independent practice at Registrar level with Consultant support.
  • Actively participate in audits, governance activities, and service improvement projects.
  • Attend the 5‑day a‑week Mechanical Thrombectomy service and Fast‑Track TIA clinic.
  • Maintain an educational portfolio, named supervision and keep up to date with current practice.
Qualifications
  • Full MRCP, UK Foundation and suitable specialty experience (e.g. Geriatric Medicine, Neurology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Clinical Pharmacology).
  • Experience in stroke medicine or a clear intention to develop a career in Stroke Medicine.
  • Good communication, team working and leadership skills.
