Overview

The Trigger Response team are an experienced group of acutely trained nurses and allied health professionals delivering outreach provision and resuscitation training.

As an outreach team, we pro-actively review, investigate and treat deteriorating patients across the entire hospital demographic, working independently and autonomously to ensure up-to-date and appropriate plans of care. Our goal is to reverse acute deterioration and prevent unnecessary critical care admissions.

Responsibilities

Under supervision, you will support and implement clinical practice to achieve a high standard of patient care. This includes:

  • Planning, organising and coordinating internal and external training programmes and education.
  • Consulting and providing information resources.
  • Conducting research and leading clinical audit related to resuscitation and the care of deteriorating patients.
  • Attending deteriorating patient, cardiac arrest and trauma calls, functioning as a member of the team and leading when required.
  • Supporting ward staff to reduce hospital length of stay and improve patient care and safety.
  • Maintaining a professional profile, developing skills, knowledge and competencies in accordance with the professional Code of Conduct and Trust policies.
Qualifications

Candidate is expected to:

  • Obtain and maintain Resuscitation Council UK instructor status and follow its guidelines.
  • Be a qualified nurse or allied health professional with experience in acute care.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead clinical audit and contribute to service improvement.
  • Adhere to Trust policies, procedures and professional standards.
