Transport Planner - Dartford

Shift: 4 on / 4 off, 8am - 8pm | Salary: Up to GBP35,000 DOE + Benefits


Are you an experienced Transport Planner looking for your next career move? We're working with a leading logistics business who are seeking a motivated planner to join their busy operations team based in Dartford.


The Role

As a Transport Planner, you'll be responsible for planning and executing daily collection and delivery schedules, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and first-class customer service. Working on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (8am-8pm), you'll play a key part in maximising vehicle utilisation, reducing empty miles, and keeping operations running smoothly.


Responsibilities


  • Build and maintain efficient daily transport plans to meet customer KPIs.

  • Allocate drivers, manage rotas, and arrange agency cover where required.

  • Communicate clearly with drivers, subcontractors, and customers.

  • Monitor live operations, resolving issues such as breakdowns or delays.

  • Ensure compliance with transport legislation, Working Time Directive, and driver hours.

  • Keep accurate records and data entry in transport systems.

  • Develop strong working relationships with drivers, customers, and internal teams.


About You


  • Proven experience in a Transport Planner, Logistics Planner, or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of transport compliance, driver hours, and Working Time Directive.

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Confident communicator with the ability to work under pressure.

  • IT-literate with experience using transport management systems.
