Job summary

A Dunstable-based client is seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Compliance Coordinator to ensure compliant operations of their transport department. The role involves overseeing fleet compliance, maintaining FORS accreditation, and managing transport documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of transport compliance and hold a Transport Manager CPC qualification. Excellent organisational skills and a valid Driving Licence are essential.

Job description

One of our Dunstable based Clients require a highly organised and proactive Transport Compliance Coordinator to support the efficient and compliant operation of their transport department. This role is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of transport compliance, fleet management, and FORS standards, and who holds a Transport Manager CPC qualification.

You will play a key role in ensuring operations run safely, legally and efficiently across the fleet of HGVs, 7.5T, and 3.5T vans, maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and support the company's fleet compliance and transport operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including FORS accreditation, driver hours, tachograph regulations and vehicle licensing.
  • Maintain and improve FORS accreditation, ensuring all processes meet audit standards.
  • Coordinate vehicle inspections, MOTs, servicing and repairs to minimise downtime and ensure roadworthiness.
  • Manage and review transport documentation, policies and audit records.
  • Assist in preparing for external audits and compliance checks.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and cost efficiency within the transport function.
Requirements
  • Transport Manager CPC qualification (essential).
  • Proven experience in a transport or fleet compliance role.
  • Strong understanding of FORS standards and experience maintaining accreditation.
  • Good knowledge of tachograph laws, driver hours regulations, and vehicle maintenance requirements.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with drivers, managers, and external authorities.
  • Full Driving Licence essential
