Overview

As a Trainee Fire Extinguisher Technician, you'll embark on an exciting journey to develop hands-on skills in fire extinguisher maintenance, inspection, and testing. During your first six months, you'll receive industry-leading training delivered by our expert team at Marlowe. This includes a blend of classroom-based learning and practical, on-the-job experience at some of our most prestigious client sites. You'll be mentored by a dedicated and experienced Engineer, ensuring continuous support and professional development throughout your training. You'll also be enrolled in a specialist industry course, working toward becoming BS 5306 qualified, setting the foundation for a rewarding and long-term career in fire protection.

  • The primary objective of this role is to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to become a fully qualified Fire Extinguisher Technician.
  • Work alongside experienced Fire Extinguisher Technicians, gaining hands-on experience and practical knowledge in the field.
  • Develop and maintain professional, effective relationships with a diverse client base, representing the company to the highest standards.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with customers to ensure they fully understand the status and condition of their fire safety equipment.
  • Collaborate with Service Administrators to ensure customer requirements and service expectations are consistently met.
  • Take responsibility for the proper management, care, and security of vehicle stock, tools, and equipment.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward training and development, carrying out all assigned duties with professionalism and diligence.
  • Flexibility to travel and stay overnight may be required during peak periods and throughout the training programme.
Qualifications and Attributes
  • Essential Professional Experience - Possession of a full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel as required for work and training purposes.
  • Desirable Professional Experience - Previous experience working with mechanical fire protection systems (e.g., sprinklers, suppression systems).
  • Technical background within the mechanical fire safety industry.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Key Personal Attributes - Highly motivated with a strong sense of drive and initiative; demonstrates enthusiasm and a positive attitude in all aspects of work; energetic, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment; well-organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
