Overview

As a Trainee Fire Extinguisher Technician, you'll embark on an exciting journey to develop hands-on skills in fire extinguisher maintenance, inspection, and testing. During your first six months, you'll receive industry-leading training delivered by our expert team at Marlowe, including classroom learning and practical, on-the-job experience at client sites. You'll be mentored by a dedicated Engineer and enrolled in a specialist industry course toward BS 5306 qualification.

Responsibilities
  • Develop the necessary skills and knowledge to become a fully qualified Fire Extinguisher Technician.
  • Work alongside experienced Technicians, gaining hands-on experience and practical knowledge in the field.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with a diverse client base, representing the company to the highest standards.
  • Communicate clearly with customers to explain the status and condition of their fire safety equipment.
  • Collaborate with Service Administrators to ensure customer requirements and service expectations are met.
  • Take responsibility for the proper management, care, and security of vehicle stock, tools, and equipment.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward training and development, carrying out duties professionally and diligently.
  • Flexibility to travel and stay overnight may be required during peak periods and throughout the training programme.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Essential Professional Experience: Possession of a full UK driving licence; Willingness and flexibility to travel for work and training purposes.
  • Desirable Professional Experience: Previous experience working with mechanical fire protection systems (e.g., sprinklers, suppression systems); Technical background within the mechanical fire safety industry; Experience in a customer-facing role with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Key Personal Attributes: Highly motivated with a strong sense of drive and initiative; Enthusiastic and positive attitude; Energetic, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment; Well-organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
