Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Clinical Vascular Scientist to join our friendly team within a specialised Vascular Unit. The Vascular Studies Unit provides a comprehensive range of non‑invasive investigations, including Duplex ultrasound scanning, to support the diagnosis and management of patients with vascular disease across Northamptonshire.

Responsibilities
  • Autonomously perform, interpret and report specialised vascular ultrasound examinations and blood flow measurements to the Trust county wide, aiding diagnosis of patients with suspected circulatory disorders.
  • Continually develop knowledge and practice in the field of Vascular Technology.
  • Undertake clinical supervision of others in their training.
  • Work as a member of the Vascular Studies Unit team helping to deliver a high‑quality county wide Northamptonshire Vascular Diagnostic Service, maximising patient care and safety at all times.
Qualifications
  • Science‑based degree at 2:1 or above.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, good hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to work both independently and effectively within a small team.
  • Commitment to full training and support across all areas of vascular ultrasound, with the expectation to work towards accreditation with the College and the Society for Vascular Science.
