A leading water utility company in the UK is seeking a Town Planner (policy) to join their Land & Property business area. The role involves collaborating with local planning authorities and supporting the development of local plans. The ideal candidate will have a membership of the RTPI or equivalent experience, excellent relationship management skills, and extensive knowledge of planning policies. This position supports flexible, hybrid working arrangements.

Location: Bradford/ Hybrid Working (a mix of office and home working)
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday between the working window of 8:00am-6:00pm.

Land & Property has set up a new town planning centre of excellence to provide sound technical advice to the business as well as influencing local plans to: reduce water demand; flooding; improving water quality; support growth; and promote YW’s capital programme.
As (policy)you will support collaborative working with local planning authorities monitoring and responding to emerging local plans, spatial strategies and national planning policy changes.
The role will involve travel to different sites across Yorkshire, therefore you will need a UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
We embrace a flexible working model, where our hybrid setup typically requires an average of 1 x day in the office per week. This could be slightly more when collaborative efforts, training or meeting deadlines demand it. For those who prefer to work on-site, our office is open Monday-Friday during working hours.
