Job summary

A leading travel recruitment agency in London seeks a Tours Director to manage a small team and design engaging tours across Europe. This hands-on role involves managing finances, liaising with clients, and ensuring smooth operations. The ideal candidate should have strong management skills, a background in Art History, and be fluent in at least one European language. The position offers £50,000 annually along with additional per diem while on tour, and a hybrid working model.

Benefits

£50,000 salary
£200 per day whilst on tour
Three days in office and two at home
Standard office hours 9:00 am - 5:30 pm

Qualifications

  • Experience managing a small team and complex projects effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to liaise with suppliers and clients internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, cost, and operate tours across Europe.
  • Liaise with US clients, pitching for new business.
  • Ensure smooth execution of all arrangements and logistics.
  • Manage tour and team finances responsibly.

Skills

Management experience
A background in Art History / History / interest in gardens
A working knowledge of at least one European language, ideally Italian or Spanish

Job description

Amazing opportunity for a Tours Director to join a great company in London who specialise in European cultural tours. This is a hands‑on roll where you will be supporting a small team and designing, planning, costing and operating tours.

The Job:
  • Managing and supporting a small senior team of consultants
  • Designing, planning, costing and operating tours
  • Sourcing and liaising directly with European suppliers (hotels, restaurants etc)
  • Working with DMCs (in both Europe and beyond)
  • Liaising with US clients, including pitching for new business and client documentation
  • Responsibility for tour and team finances
  • Writing itineraries and other promotional material (InDesign)
  • Overseeing processing of client bookings and documentation (Microsoft, CRM system)
  • Offering office support when colleagues are abroad
  • Booking flights (Galileo or similar)
  • Website management (Word Press)
  • Being a team player
  • Ensuring all arrangements run smoothly and according to plan
  • Being responsible for the welfare of the party as well as daily logistics
  • Working with expert lecturers and / or local guides
  • Coping calmly and efficiently with any issues which arise - from tracing lost baggage to medical emergencies
Skills Required:

The Package:
  • £50,000 per annum
  • £200 per day whilst on tour.
  • Three days in the office and two at home
  • The offices are open from 9.00 am until 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday.
