Monday - Friday days - 40 hours per week.
Job Purpose
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, your role is to support production efficiency by manufacturing, maintaining, and repairing tooling and associated components to a high standard, ensuring all work is completed safely and effectively in line with company quality and safety standards.
Key Accountabilities
- Operate and maintain tool room machinery as required.
- Respond quickly and effectively to tooling breakdowns to minimise production disruption.
- Manufacture new tools and ancillary parts from technical drawings or by replicating existing components.
- Carry out repairs and modifications to a wide range of production tooling, including extrusion and moulding tools.
- Provide support to maintenance operations when needed.
- Troubleshoot tooling-related production issues and assist with breakdown recovery.
- Carrying out generic tasks, which require machinery experience.
- Consistently apply high standards of workmanship and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, reporting any hazards promptly to the Engineering Manager.
- Work within the company’s Health & Safety Charter, ensuring all tasks are conducted safely and responsibly.
- Operate within the department's principles of Time, Ability, and Safety.
Role Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in toolmaking or precision engineering.
- Proficient in operating and maintaining tool room machinery.
- Capable of interpreting and working from technical drawings.
- Familiarity with the repair and modification of extrusion and mould tools.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, production‑led environment.
- Understanding of health and safety practices relevant to an engineering workshop.
