About this job

We have an exciting opportunity to join our highly acclaimed and well-established Therapy Department at Salford Royal Hospital.

As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care and the day-to-day running of the service.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assist Physiotherapists and occupational therapists in providing assessment, planning, and delivering treatment programmes to patients with multiple needs.

You will also take responsibility for administration tasks to ensure the department and team’s needs are met, including general admin, stock taking, cleaning equipment, and preparing therapy classes.

We have opportunities within both in-patient and out-patient settings.

We are looking for someone with

  • Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, an NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a healthcare related topic is advantageous
  • Good understanding of the role of a Therapy Assistant
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to use initiative
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills
  • Experience of working within a team (healthcare experience desirable but transferable skills considered) What we offer

You will assist Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in delivering high-quality care, including:

  • Supporting assessment, treatment planning, and therapy sessions for patients with varied needs
  • Administrative tasks such as patient bookings, stock management, equipment cleaning, and class preparation
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT),
  • Writing patient notes, emails and recording conversations
  • Communicating with colleagues, wider MDT staff, patients and carers
  • Occasional weekend work (typically one shift per month)
