Overview

Job Title: Test Laboratory Technician

Department and Location: UK Test Laboratory

Hourly rate: £13.30

Reporting To: Quality Manager

Role Purpose

To conduct testing in-line with relevant industry standards, test methods and internal work instructions to KPI timescales.

Responsibilities
  • To conduct testing in-line with relevant industry standards, test methods and internal work instructions to KPI timescales
  • Report test results and any potential issues / delays
  • Maintain at all times a high level of housekeeping in and around the workplace
  • Comply at all times with Group and Divisional Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions
What Good Looks Like
  • Testing is conducted to standard and test method requirements and within timescales
  • Zero incidents; near misses, accidents, environmental incidents
  • High standards of housekeeping
  • Zero major non-conformities during 1st, 2nd and 3rd party audits
Role Specifics
  • To prepare and test pipe and product samples in-line with relevant industry standards, test methods and internal work instructions
  • To carry out material analysis in line with relevant industry standards, test methods and internal work instructions
  • To accurately report test results and flag any issues immediately to the Line Manager
  • To immediately record test data / results on the relevant systems so that all data is up to date and maintain filing accurately at all times
  • To remove, cut up and dispose of samples / rigs / completed tests in the correct place
  • To plan testing so that all tests are concluded in the shortest test timeframe reporting immediately where any delays are likely to occur
  • To stock check all consumables used within the test laboratory including; pipe, end caps, bulk heads etc. and report stock levels to the Line Manager on a frequent basis
  • To maintain at all times a high level of housekeeping in and around the workplace, cleaning up the work area immediately after use and replacing tools in the appropriate area
  • To advise line manager if any housekeeping problem cannot be resolved easily and quickly
  • All waste is disposed of correctly in line with the Waste Management Procedure
  • To report any improvements that could be made
  • To comply at all times with Group and Divisional Policies and Procedures including; the Quality Policy, Health and Safety Policy and the Environmental Policy
