My client, a successful engineering organisation, needs an additional Test and Development Engineer with a strong, hands-on engineering background, experience in testing and development of mechanical and electrical equipment, and good problem-solving skills.

This role is suitable for someone seeking an interesting engineering position involving hands-on work, test planning, analysis, reporting, and development. You will work in a focused engineering team with excellent facilities to ensure the company's technologies and products meet high standards of quality, performance, and specifications in response to customer requirements.

THE ROLE:

In this role, you will:

1. Plan and execute testing of equipment and processes, reporting on performance, quality, reliability, and safety factors.
2. Investigate faults, issues, and non-conformances, communicating clearly with colleagues to find and implement resolutions.
3. Support internal teams and customers to optimize how they use their systems and technologies.
4. Develop standard operating procedures, work instructions, and risk assessments, continuously improving the effectiveness and value of testing.

THE CANDIDATE:

The successful engineer will have:

1. Engineering experience in hands-on testing and development activities.
2. Background in development / R&D / test engineering.
3. An engineering qualification - HNC/D or a graduate degree would be suitable.
