The successful applicant will play a strategic role in the business, supporting Operations Managers and Directors with their finance functions and therefore they will ideally have experience of working in a small team.

The ideal candidate will be fully AAT or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) and will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage finance tasks using Xero, and due to the nature of the role, it’s essential that you have experience of using this package.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day finance operations, acting as the main owner of the Xero accounting system
  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts in collaboration with Operations Managers and Directors
  • Complete and manage VAT returns, ensuring full compliance and timely submissions
  • Prepare and maintain accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, and other routine bookkeeping duties
  • Liaise with a small team of Finance Assistants and support with responsibilities as needed
  • Maintain organised financial records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal controls
  • Assist in streamlining finance processes and improving financial reporting accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal policies
Skills & Experience
  • Proficiency in Xero, including managing all core functions
  • Bookkeeping skills with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to produce monthly accounts and supporting schedules to a high standard
  • Understanding of VAT, accruals, prepayments and other financial processes
  • Communication and organisational skills, ability to meet strict timescale deadlines
