Technician

Location: Norfolk
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am 4:30pm + overtime available (some weekends if required)
Salary: Negotiable, DOE

ISQ Recruitment is supporting a growing engineering business in Norfolk, looking to recruit an Electrically Biased Technician to join their workshop team. The company is open to applicants with transferable skills and will provide training in electrical systems for the right person.

About the Role

This is a workshop-based position, focused on the assembly and fitting of electrical and mechanical systems. You’ll work to build schedules, handle parts, and follow technical drawings to complete projects to high standards of quality and safety. The role is varied, so you’ll need to be comfortable problem-solving and adapting as projects progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out assembly and fitting tasks to specification
  • Route and install high and low-voltage cables (training provided where needed)
  • Assemble cooling and HVAC systems
  • Fabricate brackets and supports for cabling and hoses
  • Identify and resolve build issues, escalating where required
  • Support continuous improvement and safe working practices
What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Background in engineering, manufacturing, or mechanical assembly
  • Confidence using hand and power tools
  • Ability to read drawings and follow work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills
  • Good communication skills and teamworking approach
  • Health & safety awareness

Desirable:

  • Previous electrical build or wiring experience
  • IMI, NVQ, or other technical qualifications
  • Awareness of hybrid/electric systems
  • First Aid or Fire Warden training
  • Full UK driving licence
