A Vacancy at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Technical Specialist provides oversight management and technical expertise for clients in areas where decontamination of re-usable medical devices is carried out, including Sterile Services Units, Endoscopy Departments, hospital wards, ITU, OPD, Operating Theatres, Podiatry and Dental services. The post holder is also required to deliver accredited decontamination training and education programmes nationally to the healthcare sector.
The post holder will ensure that all work is carried out to the highest possible standard and in accordance with the AVM quality system and procedures manual to fulfil the Trust’s objectives. The role includes acting as the Authorised Person (Decontamination) for installed decontamination equipment, as defined by Department of Health guidelines at various NHS Trusts, Private Healthcare Establishments and Commercial Organisations.
Work will be conducted to the highest standards within statutory, legislative, NHS technical memoranda, Health Building Notes, International, European and British Standards, and other local/NHS guidelines. The post holder will have technical responsibility for the installed decontamination equipment and autonomy to manage delegated projects within strict guidelines. The role also includes providing technical support and expert guidance on decontamination equipment, including trend analysis of critical data.
