Welcome to the home of Global Electric Street Racing.
The Role:

Are you a high-performance leader who can deliver complex technical innovation at the speed of racing? We are looking for a world-class Google Technical Project Manager to spearhead the delivery of cutting-edge AI and cloud solutions for Formula E.

In this pivotal role, you will be the engine room of our partnership with Google’s Office of the CTO (OCTO). You aren't just managing timelines; you are leading a team of Software Engineers and collaborating with a Business Analyst to transform the way racing teams use data. If you have the technical depth to lead engineers and the commercial gravitas to brief C-Suite sponsors, all while thriving in the high-pressure environment of a global race paddock, we want you on the team. This position involves significant international travel, particularly as we kick off our ambitious Season 12 agreements.

  • End-to-End Technical Delivery: You will own the project lifecycle from initiation to chequered flag. This includes defining scope, goals and deliverables alongside the Business Analyst, while producing comprehensive project documentation such as charters, RAIDs and detailed budgets. Your mission is to ensure every innovation is delivered on time, on budget and to the elite standards expected at the pinnacle of electric motorsport.

  • Team Leadership & Agile Execution: You will lead and motivate a dedicated team of three Software Engineers, setting priorities and navigating between Agile and Waterfall methodologies as required. You are responsible for identifying roadblocks, managing risks and escalating issues to the Programme Manager when necessary to ensure the highest quality of output.

  • Partnership & Stakeholder Synergy: You will act as the key technical interface between Formula E and Google OCTO, ensuring all projects are mutually beneficial and align with our global partnership agreement. You will build deep relationships with our racing teams to ensure AI solutions provide a genuine competitive edge, while also briefing senior sponsors and technology management on progress and vision.

  • Global Representation: As a champion of our tech evolution, you will work with editorial, digital and marketing teams to bring the benefits of Google Cloud to life on screen. This includes being comfortable on camera for potential programming and representing Formula E as a speaker at international conferences and seminars.

What we're looking for in you:
  • The Seasoned Tech Leader: You have 5+ years of experience delivering technical projects and a proven track record of leading software engineering teams. You are an expert in project management practices (APMP, Prince2, or similar) and possess the analytical mindset to solve complex problems on the fly. Experience with Google Cloud Platform is highly desirable.

  • The Master of Operations: You are "ruthlessly organised," capable of managing multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously. From budget management and resource allocation to risk mitigation and lessons-learned documentation, you ensure nothing is left to chance. You are highly proficient in Google Workspace and have a hunger for operational excellence.

  • The Resilient Communicator: You thrive in high-pressure, multilingual environments and possess the interpersonal skills to influence at every level, from the pit garage to the C-Suite. You are a self-starter who views challenges as opportunities, with the flexibility to travel extensively and adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of a global race season.
