Team Manager (Solicitor/CILEX Lawyer) – Property Recoveries Department

DAC Beachcroft's Claims Solutions Group Property team provides solutions to the Insurance Property Recovery Sectors. Our specialist property and recovery team offers expert advice over a range of areas:

Job Overview

The role is for the position of Team Manager of litigated Fast, intermediate track and sometimes Multi-Track cases. You will manage a group of litigators handling fast, intermediate track and multi‑track cases, while maintaining your own reduced caseload of litigated and non‑litigated work.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure files are run pro‑actively and effectively to conclusion, meeting deadlines.
  • Manage and support fee earners to meet client needs and commercial requirements.
  • Address and escalating client complaints, emerging risks or compliance issues within required timescales and highlight learning points.
  • Managing performance issues, including investigations, Performance Improvement Plans (PIPS) and providing technical support or training.
  • Drive and improve individual fee earner financial performance through effective management.
  • Support the Team Manager with recruitment activities, interviewing and short‑listing.
  • Induct new joiners and support their ongoing technical development.
  • Monitor, nurture and send out client MI; attend and present at client review meetings.
  • Maintain a high degree of client contact, including presenting at performance review meetings, providing accurate MI data, client training, responding to queries and handling complaints.
Who you are
  • Qualified solicitor/right legal designation with sufficient technical ability to supervise a team.
  • High level of personal compliance with DAC Beachcroft Group protocols and procedures.
  • Evidence of achievement of personal financial performance and commercial acumen.
  • Effective people‑management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and mentor team members at all levels.
  • Strong litigation skills and experience.
  • Existing experience of property recoveries work and either experience or a desire to gain experience of travel recoveries work.
  • Alignment with the Firm's Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive).
  • Previous supervisory experience and proven ability to provide high levels of client service and client management skills.
