Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB).

In this role you will work with the multi-disciplinary Forensic Outreach and Liaison (FOL) Service and in conjunction with other statutory and non-statutory services, provide assessment and treatment for people with mental disorder/ illness, who have offended or are at risk of offending. The service is provided in the community across Kent and Medway, as well as working closely with inpatient teams in secure hospitals to ensure the safe and efficient discharge of patients to the community.

You will lead a team of Mental Health Practitioners, Support Time Recovery Workers and Peer Support Worker, ensuring high standards of care are provided at all times and providing leadership to the multi-disciplinary team within the FOLS.

You will be required to be part of the managers on call rota.

The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Main duties

The post holder will be responsible for the line management of team members, and be the lead for the nursing team within FOLS. They will deputise for the Matron in their absence and be expected to attend a wide range of meetings, both internally and externally as the FOLS representation.

The post holder will carry a small mixed case load of forensic clients in the community and be responsible for their care coordination. They will also be responsible for overseeing the Mental Health Practitioners caseloads and be expected to be able to have a strategic view on the management of these.

The post holder will work with the Forensic Outreach and Liaison Service (FOLS) for Kent, working within the Kent, Surrey and Sussex FOLS service under South East, Adult Secure Services, New Care Model.
