A leading healthcare provider in Exeter is seeking a Physiotherapist for a fixed-term Stroke Team Lead position. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled, experienced Physiotherapist to jointly lead the Physiotherapy Team working in Stroke at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Eastern).
The Royal Devon aims to pursue excellence across services and values diversity and inclusion. The role is based in Exeter, Devon.
This fixed-term opportunity (until 19 July 2026) will involve undertaking comprehensive assessments of patients admitted to the stroke unit and providing specialist neuro-physiotherapy interventions to patients across acute and rehabilitation beds for stroke. It also involves assessment of respiratory conditions, supporting medical outliers, assessing functional ability, and liaising with patients, their support networks and wider agencies to plan and facilitate effective discharges from the acute hospital environment.
The post holder will frequently work as an autonomous practitioner with strong links to the multidisciplinary team. There is a requirement to provide supervision, training and support to junior staff and students, and an opportunity to work with managers to develop the service in line with patient need and trust-wide developments.
This full-time post requires working flexibly over 7 days, including weekend and on-call commitments.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Mon-Fri 08:15-16:30 (with approximately one weekend day and one overnight on-call shift every month).
