BCU has an exciting opportunity for an experienced secondary Maths specialist to join us as a Teaching Fellow to support our Secondary PGCE Maths Education team.
It is an essential requirement that you must be a secondary Maths specialist, having worked in secondary education teaching Maths through delivering the national curriculum. You must be able to evidence that you are a sound practitioner, highly motivated, well-organised, and passionate about delivering exceptional evidence-based teaching. You should also have mentored Maths trainees on an ITE PGCE course.

Our courses reflect our commitment to partnership working and training the next generation of secondary Maths teachers.
The role involves teaching on the ITE Postgraduate route, providing professional development, observing trainees in their teaching practice, and establishing links with partner schools. Essential duties include offering pastoral support to PGCE students, administrative activities, and attending events like open days and Get into Teaching.
You will have opportunities for further staff development, sharing, and CPD. Candidates must hold a first degree in Maths and QTS. Teaching experience in secondary schools is essential, and prior experience in ITE or mentoring trainees is desirable.
