Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

Location: Worksop

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-time – Afternoons 12‑3 pm

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a fantastic secondary school in Worksop. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by supporting their learning, well‑being, and development.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide classroom support, deliver targeted interventions, and help ensure that all students can access the curriculum and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students in the classroom, both one-to-one and in small groups, under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Assist in the preparation and organisation of learning resources.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
  • Provide additional support to students with SEND or learning barriers.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including pastoral and extracurricular support where required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
  • A patient, calm and positive approach to supporting learning and behaviour.
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
  • The ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from graduates or those considering a career in education.
