Qualifications

Teachers & Teaching Assistants - PRU & Specialist SEND Schools

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting committed Teachers and Teaching Assistants to work across Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and specialist SEND schools supporting children and young people with complex learning needs.

These roles involve working with pupils who require a highly structured, nurturing, and individualised approach to education. You will support learning, behaviour, and emotional development, helping pupils to re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering or supporting tailored lessons to small groups or on a 1:1 basis
  • Supporting pupils with complex learning needs, communication difficulties, and behavioural challenges
  • Implementing behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies
  • Assisting with personal care, moving and handling, and daily routines where required
  • Building strong, trusting relationships to support emotional regulation and engagement
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Previous experience working in PRUs, alternative provision, or SEND schools
  • Experience supporting children with complex needs and/or challenging behaviour
  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
  • Additional training such as Team Teach, Moving & Handling, Personal Care, Trauma-Informed Practice, Tracheostomy care, or similar (highly desirable)
