Overview

Surbiton High School is seeking a talented Teacher of Music to join our vibrant and ambitious department, with a strong interest in choral music and a commitment to nurturing musical excellence and creativity in young people.

About the Music Department

The Music Department at Surbiton High School is vibrant, thriving, and ambitious. We offer over 450 individual instrumental and singing lessons each week, supported by a large team of classroom teachers and Visiting Instrumental Teachers (VMTs). The department achieves strong GCSE (Edexcel) and A Level (Eduqas) results, and students regularly progress to top institutions for higher study in Music. A wide range of ensembles across multiple genres performs in a busy concert programme, including events at Cadogan Hall and the Royal Festival Hall. The Senior School Music Department collaborates with the Girls’ and Boys’ Preparatory School Music Departments. Choral music is highly valued, and we are looking for a candidate with a strong choral interest.
