Overview

Position: Teacher (Maths/Science). Location: Bassaleg, Newport. Hours: 37.5 hours per week, term time. Salary Details: up to £38,000 per annum DOE.

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher (Maths/Science) to join this thriving school. Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of engaging and challenging lessons, ensuring that the department and the school are successful in achieving its aims. You will be an enthusiastic, flexible and determined individual who shares our values and is looking to develop their career in this specialist area.

Who we are:

Greenfields school located in Bassaleg, Newport supporting learners aged 9-16 with learning differences. The school is registered to provide education for up to 20 pupils, who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD). We cater for a mix of residential and day placements.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver the curriculum, prepare teaching materials, and ensure high standards of literacy and student progress.
  • Establish a safe and stimulating environment, manage classroom behaviour, and promote student well-being.
  • Use assessment data to monitor student progress, set targets, and plan lessons.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, participate in professional development, and communicate effectively with parents and external bodies.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of students, ensuring compliance with school policies and protocols.
