A prominent healthcare provider in the UK seeks a qualified Family Therapist to join their Adolescent Mental Health Team. The role involves delivering family therapy, managing a caseload of young people with mental health issues, and supervising Band 7 family therapists. Candidates should possess a master's level qualification in family therapy and experience in working with adolescents. This position offers the chance to contribute to a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to service improvement and quality care.
The post holder will provide care coordination and family/systemic therapy to young people within Newham CAMHS. They will contribute to the effective functioning of the MDT and provide both clinical and management supervision.
You will join the Adolescent Mental Health Team (AMHT), a community-based, multidisciplinary team that operates using the Care Programme Approach. The AMHT includes psychiatry, psychology, nursing, and family therapy, and is a highly effective and supportive team within a thriving CAMHS service.
This role will involve supporting Early Intervention in Psychosis for 13 to 18-year-olds, as well as assessing and treating young people with severe emotional and mental health difficulties, including those presenting with high-risk behaviour. You will hold a caseload and collaborate with other team members, as well as work independently. As a family therapist, you will offer family, parent, and individual therapeutic interventions, while also supporting the MDT in formulating young people's presentations within a systemic context.
In addition, the post holder will be responsible for the clinical supervision of Band 7 family therapists and may provide line management. You will also participate in the AMHT duty rota, supporting young people held within the team. The role will involve supporting the Operational Lead and Senior Nurse in managing the team and developing interfaces with partner services, both community-based and inpatient. Opportunities to contribute to the CAMHS Family Therapy clinic will be available. The post holder will also be encouraged to participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives within CAMHS.
