Job description
  • Support Worker
  • Part time – 22.5 hours per week
  • Melton, Woodbridge, IP12

At Dimensions, we believe in supporting people to live the life they choose. We’re looking for a Support Worker to join our small team in Woodbridge, Ipswich. This is a part-time role of 22.5 hours per week, where sleep-ins are an essential part of the rota.

You’ll be supporting one gentleman in his own flat. He loves being out every day, catching buses and trains, enjoying lunch out, visiting arcades, and planning holidays. He thrives on routine and uses a visual staff board to plan his week. He reads well, communicates with words, and understands everything you say. Your role will be to encourage his independence, prompt him with daily routines like brushing his teeth or taking medication and join him in cooking and housework. There is no personal care or mobility support required.

Shifts follow a two-week rolling rota and include long days (7am–10pm), sleep-ins, and shorter days (7am–2:30pm). You’ll need to commit to at least one sleep-in per week, with every other weekend off. A separate staff sleep-in room is provided.

We’re looking for someone values‑led, patient, and confident travelling on public transport, as trips can go far afield – including London. You’ll also support him to reconnect with family and friends and potentially visit home once a month.

Joining Dimensions means being part of a values-driven organisation where Ambition, Respect, Courage, Integrity, and Partnership guide everything we do. You’ll make a real difference in one person’s life by supporting him to do what he loves every day, while receiving full training and ongoing support from a friendly team.

The Benefits

We offer a thorough induction, ongoing training, and specialist learning opportunities including diabetes care and medication support. You’ll be part of an organisation that values its staff and invests in your development, with real chances to grow your career.

You’ll also benefit from generous annual leave, pension contributions, wellbeing support, employee discounts, and recognition schemes that celebrate the amazing work you do.
