Overview

Are you looking for a rewarding flexible job where you can make a difference in the lives of others? We have a permanent part-time opportunity (16-20 hours per week) in Beith with our #TeamThorntree.

The Role

The main purpose of your role will be to support a young man with Autism in his own home with all aspects of daily living, e.g., shopping, finances, cooking, housework and personal care. We are ideally looking for a driver for this position as the young man is out each day. He enjoys going to play golf and has been enjoying other activities such as the arcade and going out longer walks as well as going to parks within his local community.

Requirements and About You

You don\'t need experience to join our team; we recruit on values and transferable skills. We\'ll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you\'ll need. We\'ll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees!

Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence with one year of driving experience (the young man is out each day and mobility cars are used)
  • Willingness to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme
  • Commitment to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with support from our Training Academy
  • Registration with the SSSC within 3 months of starting (where applicable)
Shift Patterns

The service runs as a sleepover; you will start your shift at 10am and finish at 2pm the next day (Monday - Friday) and 10am to 10am the next day (Saturday and Sunday). The team is experienced and will support you as you settle in.

If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (over 18) within the last 10 years, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate as part of pre-employment checks.

If you are successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting and to meet the requirements of the person we support\'s insurance policy for the use of their mobility car.
