A leading university in Greater London seeks an individual for a pastoral support role within its Health Sciences Education Institute. The successful candidate will work closely with students and staff, advising on policies and addressing concerns. An honours degree or equivalent experience in higher education is essential. The position offers a salary between £44,288 and £51,755, with opportunities for hybrid working.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience in higher education, working in a student facing role which involves significant contact with students, academic and professional staff and will lead on supporting students showing any cause for concern. (Whilst this is a pastoral role, it is not a counselling position.)
The postholder will have an honours degree or equivalent experience, have experience of using electronic student record systems, developing policies and an ability to work with empathy and sensitivity. Substantial experience working within established regulations, supporting students with pastoral issues in a range of formats, and working within a confidential environment. The postholder will be quick learners, able to assimilate and retain information to be able to advise students on relevant policies and procedures.
This post sits within the Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE), Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD), Queen Mary University of London. The post is offered on an indefinite contract and is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London, with the postholder expected to be on site regularly in addition to opportunities for hybrid working. The salary is Grade 5 (£44,288 - £51,755) with successful candidates expected to start at the entry point of the scale.
